Edith Cornforth

August 21, 1924 — January 18, 2011

The funeral service for Edith Melbalene Cornforth, age 86will be held Saturday,

January 22, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Christ United Methodist Church. Rev Jim

Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements

are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Edith was born August 21, 1924 in Keota, OK to Dewey and Theora (Davidson)

Adams and died January 18, 2011 in Enid. She grew up and attended school in

Keota, OK. She married Myrl Cornforth in Wichita, KS on March 4, 1944 and later

moved to Enid where they owned and operated Cornforth Key Shop until their

retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in

Enid, OK. Her hobbies included volunteering at Bass Gift Shop, cooking, quilting,

gardening and reading. The highlights of her life were her grandchildren. She

was very active in church.

Survivors include her daughter, Dona Elliott and husband John of Keota, OK, two

sons, Dean Cornforth and wife Sharon of Enid, OK and Dan Cornforth of Enid, OK;

two brothers, J.T. Adams and wife Reeda of Keota, OK and Bill Adams and wife

Ivalene of Keota, OK; one sister, Shirley Easley and husband Paul of Anderson,

CA; one aunt, Ena Parker of San Leandro, CA seven grandchildren; ten great

grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Monte King,

Mary Estill and Angie Epps.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Myrl, two brothers, Harold

(Buddy) Adams and Dewey (Peewee) Adams.

Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or the Susan B

Komen Fund. Condolences may be emailed to the family at
