Virginia Cooper

Funeral services for Virginia Mae Cooper age 78 of Enid will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Gail Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in the Ames Cemetery under the kind direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Virginia was born June 12, 1932 in Romance, MO to Floyd and Radie James Garner and passed away in The Commons on December 31, 2010. She grew in the Ava, Missouri area and in the early 60’s she landed in the Enid area.

She married Ola Ray Cooper on August 10, 1951 and they made North Enid, Ames, Enid and Ava, Missouri their primary homes. He passed away July 26, 1984. She was a waitress at many of the Enid area restaurants, including the Three Towers (North Enid), K-Bob, and the Sage Room. Virginia moved into the Methodist Home in February 1997 and lived there until she passed away.

She was a lady who enjoyed life the most by caring for others. She enjoyed quilting, raising calves in Missouri, and giving care and direction to all her kids, grandkids, and other family friends.

She is survived by her sons Ben Cooper of Enid, Clifford and his wife Juanita Cooper of Lahoma, step-sons, Terry Cooper of KS, and Danny Woodruff of OH; two brothers John and Joe Frank of MO; one sister Nancy Parker of KS; 7 grandchildren (Toni, Ray Lee, Elizabeth, Rachel, Brian, Tanya and Scott) 14 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Charles Ray Cooper; two great grandchildren, two brothers, and four sisters.
