A Celebration of Life Service for Laura “June” Cooke age 69 of Enid will be 10 am Thursday at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Bobby Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Services and cremation are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
June was born February 22, 1947 in Gassville, Arkansas to George E and Letha Faye Bell Gossett and passed away June 27, 2016 in the Enid Senior Care. She moved to Enid in 1955 and attended and graduated from Enid High in 1964.
She married Guy Root in 1964 in Enid and had two children, Guy and Laura “Lori”. She later married William “Buck” Cooke on September 28, 1996 in Enid and he passed away August 15, 2006.
June worked for Mid-State Termite Pest Control and later purchased the business on August 16, 1999. She sold her business in 2006. June was a member of Christ Community Church.
She is survived by her children; Lori Dirks of Bucklin, KS and Guy Root and his wife Jenny of Enid, grandchildren Dane McKitrick, Tyler Dirks, and Summer Dawn Root, Sister Pam and husband Robert Sands of Jet, Step Brothers Hugh and Michele Kimball and Rodney and Karen Kimball, step sister Deanna James, and several other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.
