Johnny was born November 4, 1933 on the family farm that was located near Midway Corner, west of Fairview. His parents were Lou Earl Conley and Grace Sterling Conley. The family moved to Fairview a few years later and he graduated from Fairview High School. During high school he worked in the Buick auto dealership of his future father in law, Walter James. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and entered military service in 1953. He married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Claire Lee, just before leaving for basic training. After his military service was completed he and his growing family moved to Enid, OK, where he owned and operated several Phillips 66 service stations. Following a divorce in the late 1980s he moved to Kansas and operated an Amoco station in Wichita, and later a Phillips 66 station in Eldorado. While living in Kansas he met and married Nancy Schiller Lancaster, with whom he spent many happy years. After retiring from the service station business he worked in the Goddard, KS public system, and retired from the schools for a second time after ten years of service. Following the death of Nancy he returned to Enid and spent many happy hours fishing, painting, working on his house, and spending time with his family members. Just last year, on St. Patrick’s Day, he married his companion, Edith Delanty, formerly of Wichita, KS.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Lou and Grace, sisters Dorabelle McCune and Rachel Ivey, brother Ebert Conley, and infant daughter Donna Sue Conley. He is survived by his sister Mary Hart, of Anchorage; AK, his wife Edith Delanty, of the home; sons and daughters in law Terry and Julie Conley, of Lawton; Keith and Gayle Conley, of Enid; Jeff and Tabby Conley, of Enid, and by his daughter Carolyn Conley and her companion Greg Ross, of Fairview. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Sandy Leonard, of Peculiar, MO and a stepson, Jim Lancaster, of Goddard, KS, and by many cousins. Johnny had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.

Johnny was a skilled mechanic and valued his longtime customers, many of whom he also counted as close friends. His motto was always, “Just Friendly Service.“ Johnny treasured his family and the times he spent together with them. He taught them the value of commitment to and love for family and friends, and instilled in them his own strong work ethic. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he had touched. His family also extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center, and The Commons, for the care that they provided to Johnny during his illness.
