Funeral services for Emma Lou Combs age 82 of Waukomis will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Waukomis Christian Church with Rev. Dave Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Emma was born December 29, 1928 in Perth, Kansas to John J. Kern and A. Marie McEachern and passed away March 4, 2011 at her home. She received her associate’s degree from Texas State College for Women. Emma married Larry Combs on April 12, 1950 in Wichita, Kansas and he passed away May 31, 2001.
They lived in Wichita until 1976 when they moved to Waukomis. She retired from TG&Y in the late 1980’s.
She is survived by her children; Mike Combs and his wife Charlotte of Wichita, KS, Cheryl Warne and husband Paul of Wichita, KS, Janice Combs of Waukomis, OK, Becky Rhodd of Watonga, OK, and Linda Luther and husband Robert of Oklahoma City, OK, 7 grandchildren Jeremy, Justin, Brice, Jared, Kayla, Andrew, and Kaitlyn, 4 great grandchildren Jacey, Kinley, Logan, and Brook.
Emma enjoyed her grandchildren’s sports and was a big OSU Cowboy fan.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Danny Rhodd.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
