Funeral services for Genevieve Hopkins Coffman Beavers age 92 of Enid will be 10 am Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Graveside will be 2:00 pm at the Cherokee Cemetery with Rev. Tom Cooksey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Genevieve was born July 8, 1921 in El Reno, OK to Roy and Edith Dean Hopkins and passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Golden Oaks Nursing Center.
She lived her early years in Enid graduating from Enid High School in 1939. On March 24, 1940 she married Allen Coffman of Blackwell, Ok. They were married 52 years when Allen passed away on March 3, 1992. She lived in Medford, Woodward, Ponca City and Enid. In 1961 she moved to Jet and Cherokee community where they owned and operated Southgate Lanes Bowling Alley. In May 1997 she married Bruce Beavers who she had dated while they were in high school. They moved to Golden Oaks Village. Bruce passed away March 4, 2000. She was a member of the Eastern Star since 1940. She was a member of Garland Road Baptist Church where she was very active, and a volunteer at RSVP.
Genevieve is survived by her son Allen (Bud) and his wife Ann Coffman of Yukon, daughter-in-law Peggy and Terry Bain of Edmond, step daughter Donna and Don Bronson of Oklahoma City, step son Ronnie and Carolyn Beavers of Calumet, OK, 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Janice Webster, son Marvin Coffman, and a grandson Allen Roy Coffman, Jr.
