A service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Evelyn M. Chambers, 77, of Enid, OK, will be Saturday, June 28, 2014, 1:00 PM at The Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory in St. Joseph, MO. with Rev. Larry Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 to 7 PM and at The Meierhoffer Funeral Home on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM.
Evelyn was born May 21, 1937 in Flora, IN the daughter of John and Esther Rodkey Oyler and passed away June 24, 2014 at her residence. She was united in marriage to James J. Chambers Jr. June 30, 1954 in Rosendale, MO. And he preceded her in death November 17, 1986. She was saved and baptized in 1978. She enjoyed quilting and had just finished a quilt for a great grandbaby to be. She will be remembered as loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, April Young and her husband Michael of Ringwood, OK, Kelly Chambers of St. Joseph, MO, five sons, Scott Chambers of Enid, OK, Craig Chambers of Enid, OK, Andrew Chambers and his wife Anne of Enid, OK, Douglas Chambers of St. Joseph, MO and Tracy Chambers of Enid, OK, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-one Great grandchildren with three more on the way, two brothers, Kenneth Oyler of Pennsylvania and Harry Oyler of Texas, two sisters, Barbara Chambers of Missouri and Jane Harness of Indiana. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her youngest son, Timothy T. Chambers.
