Ruby “Cong” Carter was taken by her Savior to her eternal home on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013. She was born on a farm southwest of Okeene, Okla. on Oct. 3, 1922 to Sarah Karbs Heffel and Carl Heffel. She married Albert Henry Carter on Jan. 3, 1941 in Perry, Okla. Ruby served the community of Waukomia, Okla. as Assistant Post Master for 30 years. She is survived by a son, Jimmie D. Carter and wife Susie of St. Joseph, Mo; a daughter, Par Carter Camp and husband John, III of Lubbock, Tx.; step daughter, Betty Bagshaw of Canby, Oregon and Barbara Baker and husband Bill of Enid, Okla.; a brother, Cletice Heffel and wife June of Tucson, Arizona. She also leaves twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; along with a host of friends.
