Johnnie Campbell

March 4, 1958 — May 20, 2016

Johnnie Joe Campbell, 58, of Enid, OK, loving husband, father and grandfather succumbed to cancer at home surrounded by his loving family on May 20, 2016.

Johnnie was born March 4, 1958 in Canadian, TX to Charlie and Janie (Allred) Campbell. He graduated from Vici High School in 1976. On November 17, 1978 he married the love of his life Pam (Bridges) Campbell in Enid, OK. In Enid, Johnnie and Pam raised two daughters Kristen (Campbell) Dittmeyer and Casey (Campbell) Hultman. Their family was completed with the addition of two sons-in-law, Kale Dittmeyer and James Hultman, as well as two grandsons Kade Andrew Dittmeyer and Knox Campbell Dittmeyer.

Johnnie made a career in the oilfield; namely for Hodges Trucking and Geronimo Trucking. He enjoyed work and the countless friendships made throughout his time as a mechanic and truck driver - some becoming lifelong friendships. He continued to work while receiving chemotherapy, only taking days off for treatment; and only retired a few months prior to his passing.

Johnnie is survived by his loving wife, Pam Campbell of the home; daughter Kristen DIttmeyer and husband Kale of Rogers, AR; daughter Casey Hultman and husband James of Edmond, OK; two grandsons, Kade and Knox Dittmeyer; lifelong friends: Dwayne and Tracy Morey and Ray and Connie Harper; three brothers: Jack Brown and wife Francine, Franklin Campbell, and Kenny and Debby Campbell, as well as two sisters: Kathleen Ames and Connie Bailey; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one infant brother, and two brothers-in-law.

A celebration of life service will be held Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Vernon Lee officiating. Cremation is under direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. As Johnnie would say “come as you are.” Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Circle of Love in Enid, OK or American Cancer Society with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home custodian of the funds.

A special thank you to Dr. Hollen, Jenni, Jamie and the chemo team at Cancer Specialists of Oklahoma and Hospice Circle of Love for their loving care and support.
