Ernest Bussart

The funeral for Ernest Bussart, 94, will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2015 at University United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Rev. Nathan Mattox, Rev. Jim Edmison, and Rev. Gail Edmison will officiate. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Dr, Tulsa, OK. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 5pm-7pm at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel.

Ernest was born December 17, 1920 in Kansas City, Kansas to Charles A. and Julia Bussart and died Saturday, May 16, 2015. He was raised at Wamego, Kansas, where he graduated from high school. He was a member of the football, track, and baseball teams. After attending Washburn University, he joined the United States Navy and was a veteran of WWII.

On January 3, 1947, he married Imogene Kelly at Baxter Springs, Kansas. They made their home in Tulsa where he was a construction superintendent with H. J. Happel Co. for 40 years and with Rangeline Field Service for 10 years until his retirement.

He was a member of the University United Methodist Church which he served as trustee for many years, a member of Delta Lodge 425, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32, a member of Refrigeration Service Engineers Society for over 30 years, and a Past Exalted Ruler and a 66 year member of the Tulsa Elks Lodge 946.

Surviving are his step-daughter, Marilyn Melka of Enid; a granddaughter, Terri Melka of Norman; granddaughter-in-law, Michelle and Branden Nightingale; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Melka Nightingale, Abby Melka Nightingale, Samantha Nightingale, and Isiah Nightingale all of Enid; two sisters, Betty and Tex Clark of Farmington, NM; and Patricia Dean and Ken Myers of Topeka, KS; niece, Kathy and Louis Bracken and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Imogene, his parents, two grandsons, Ron and Darin Melka, two brothers, Ervin and Val Bussart, and one sister, Marie Weixelman.

Memorial contributions may be made to University United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge 946 or Scottish Rite.
