Herman Buczinski

Funeral services for Herman Buczinski will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Dan Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Herman was born October 15, 1928 to Aloysius and Edna Wright Buczinski in Woodward, OK where he grew up. He delivered parts for National Auto Parts Supply known now as NAPA on his bicycle, sometimes fashioning “chains” for the tires to go through the snow. He drove a truck delivering propane and then cattle. He built and painted grain elevators, some of which you can see in the little towns around northern Oklahoma, such as Capron.

Herman married Coralea (Corky) Jackson on March 17, 1951. He served in the US Army form March 1951 until his honorable discharge in March 1953. They moved to Enid in April of 1953 where he went to work for Webster Goodson. In 1962 he went to work for Franklin Motor Company where he ran the alignment department. He always liked to brag that they were doing 2 alignments per week when he started and when he retired in 1991, they were doing 2 per hour.

After retiring Herman and Corky spent a lot of time traveling, spending two months in Colorado every summer where they made several lasting friendships. He also enjoyed working in his wood shop, that he built with his own hands, making arbors, windmills and other crafts.

After Corky’s passing he was blessed enough to reunite with an old family friend, Marlene Wofford. He always said he was fortunate enough to find two good women in his lifetime. They enjoyed delivering medications for Pharmcare Pharmacy to several area nursing homes. He did his last drive for Pharmcare 5 days before his 90th birthday. Herman and Marlene spent a lot of time traveling and enjoying each other’s company for 19 years until her passing.

Surviving are his daughters, Susan Babbitt and Pam Lytle and her husband Chet of Enid; one honorary son, Clint Bailey of Dover; grandsons, Tyler Koehn, Joshua Lytle and Kevin Lytle of Enid; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Betsy) Garrison of Wichita; 6 great granddaughters, including his newest which was born early on August 11th and was able to meet her great granddad; 3 great grandsons and one great-great granddaughter on the way. And of course, we can’t forget Lucy, his faithful companion, his dog that was always by his side for seven years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Corky; his companion Marlene; an infant daughter; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to Furever Friends or the American Cancer Society with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
