The memorial service for Glen Buchanan, age 63 will be Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Oakwood Christian Church. Rev Michael Frisbie will officiate. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Glen was born October 14, 1948 in Enid, OK to Kenneth and Glenna Wampler Buchanan and passed away February 21, 2012 after a long battle against ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) surrounded by his family. He graduated from Enid High School in 1966 and attended OU and Phillips University.

He joined the US Navy in 1968, serving on the USS Procyon delivering supplies from the Philipines to Viet Nam. He was discharged in 1970 when his ship was decommissioned. After the Navy, he returned to Enid and joined his dad in the family business at the Tia Juana Restaurant where he worked until the effects of ALS forced him to quit in 2002. He was a member of the Oakwood Christian Church where he became a baptized believer in Jesus Christ. He enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting. He was a past member of the Grand National Quail Club.

He married Judy Upp in 1972, having two children, Matt and Kim. Glen had a fantastic sense of humor and was a great dad. He loved attending Matt and Kim’s sporting events and could often be found at baseball and softball games sitting on the tailgate of his Suburban with an ice chest full of cold drinks and snacks for the kids.

Survivors include his wife Judy, children Matt Buchanan (Ashley) of Drummond, OK, Kim Burford (Jerod) of Enid, OK; grandchildren, Brinley and Kyler Buchanan of Drummond, OK, Baylor and Boston Burford of Enid, OK; father, Kenneth Buchanan of Enid, OK; sisters, Jenny Ekstrom and Barbara Marshall (Marvin) of Enid, OK and caregiver, Terry Dennis.
