Funeral services for Joseph D. “Jody” Brumfield, Jr. 63, of Enid, will be Friday, April 20, 2012, 10 AM at The Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Charles Babb officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of The Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 PM on Thursday.
Jody was born Dec. 17, 1948 in New Orleans, LA the son of Joseph D. and Dorothy Lotus Franz Brumfield. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School in New Orleans, LA in 1967. He then attended Nicholls State University in Thibodeaux, LA. He was united in marriage to Lisa Babb June 20, 1980 in Enid, OK. Mr. Brumfield was employed in the sporting goods industry for over 35 years working for Larry Black Sporting Goods for many years and ending his career with E.C. Frazier and Associates. His love of sports led him to coach and assist many local teams. He will be remembered for the love he showed his family, his sense of humor, love of cajun cooking and his love for his dogs.
Survivors include his wife Lisa of the home, three daughters, Jennifer Porter and Allison Brumfield of Houston, TX, Melissa Brumfield of Oklahoma City, OK, one son, Beau and wife Kristin of Moore, OK, five grandchildren, Sophie, Ty, Monty, Kate and Allie, two brothers, Bill and Craig Brumfield and his mother, Lotus Brumfield of New Orleans, LA.
