Leonard Boyle

June 16, 1932 — April 2, 2010

God called one of His own, Leonard Eugene Boyle, to his eternal home on April 2, 2010. Leonard was born June 16, 1932 at Anthony, Kansas the elder of two sons of Eugene and Viola “Honey” Eulberg Boyle.

Leonard started his public education at Fairview Country School and continued his schooling at Gore School, Pleasant Valley country School, and Manchester Public School with graduation at Wakita Public School.

Leonard served his country from 1952-1956 in the Navy with the rank of AD3. He became a driller in the oil fields and later worked at Great Lakes Carbon. His love of the outdoors and the land drew him to farming until he retired in 2004. He received an award for outstanding practice in Soil Conservation. Leonard attended Enid Beauty College where he met Myrtle (Kelly) Catterton and they were married February 16, 1963 at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Manchester. Leonard was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Billings.

Leonard embraced Myrtle’s family and he is survived by his wife Myrtle of the home, son Brent Catterton and his wife Sandy of Boerne, TX, grandsons Matthew Todd and Joshua Seth Catterton, granddaughter Shellee Catterton of Stillwater, great granddaughter, Lauren Mishelle Beatty, brother Leon Boyle and his wife Betty of Cherokee and a vast number of dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday April 5, 2010 at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Father Tom Dowdell and Brian Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the Wakita Cemetery under the kind direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made through the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to the Hunter Christian Church or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
