Renzer Boese

On October 19, 2021, Renzer “Red” Marvin Boese saw the checkered flags and crossed the finish line into the arms of His maker. There will be a celebration of life on November 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Ladusau Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Matthew Thoms officiating. He was a member of Calvary Chapel Fellowship of Enid, OK. Service and Cremation arrangements are made by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Red was born in Seiling, Oklahoma to Tillman and Lucy Boese on March 12, 1938. The family relocated to Enid, Oklahoma. After moving to Enid and attending school locally he enlisted in the Air Force in January of 1957.

While serving in the Air Force, Red was stationed in Waco, Texas where he met the love of his life, Mary Jane Nistico. The two only dated a few months before they married on July 5, 1958 and spent the next 63 years together.

The couple made their home in Enid, Oklahoma and had two children, Tammie Green and Janet Coplen.

When Red left the Air Force and returned to Enid, he worked at Vance Air Force Base in the paint and body shop. He left the base and spent the next several years working as a paint and body man in business with a friend at B&R Paint and Body Shop and later for Darrell’s Dent Shop. He left the paint and body business to start Red Boese Tools and sold tools to mechanics and body man for the next several years. He then joined Bill Beard Auto Parts and Salvage in 1982 as a wrecker driver and eventually moved to the position of counterman. When Red’s good friend, Bill White purchased the salvage yard, Red stayed on at Bill White Auto Parts and Salvage until he retired in March of 2000.

After retiring he and Mary traveled in their motor home for the next 20 years, with Enid remaining their home base. They traveled from Canada to Mexico seeing family and friends and attending NASCAR Races. They spent most winters in the Valley making lifelong friends.

When Red wasn’t traveling, he never stopped moving. He drove for local dealerships, picking up vehicles and making auto exchanges.

He rebuilt a 54 Ford Victoria and showed it for many years at car shows across the region, winning numerous plaques and trophies; and even took it on a lap around Texas Motor Speedway.

Red was a lifetime member of the VFW, and also a member of the Elks Club in Enid, where he worked on the annual car show committee for many years.

Red treasured his marriage, his family, and friends. He was beyond proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a Ford man, even though he was a huge Chase Elliott fan, who drives a Chevy. He spent many years watching dirt track racing and boating with his family and friends. His other love was for the Boston Terriers he and Mary had throughout the years.

Red is survived by his wife Mary, of the home, their children, Tammie & husband Bud Green of Bostwick, FL; Janet Coplen of Enid, OK, four grandchildren, Steven Byrum, wife Nichole and children Avery, Payton and Riley of Enid, Rebecca Campbell and children Amador, Jimmy and Jesse of LaMesa, TX, Bridgett Campbell and children Raven and Xander of Mankato, KS, and Jammie Campbell and children Morgan, PJ and Shane of Bostwick, FL, one brother Darrell Boese and wife Cathy of Enid, OK, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, mother one sister and one brother.
