Beryl Bigger

July 25, 1916 — March 7, 2012

Beryl Rhodes Bigger died March 7th 2012 in Enid, Oklahoma. She was born in Bucklin Kansas, July 25, 1916 to Flake & Grace Nease. She married Floyd Rhodes in 1940. After Floyd’s death on September 11, 1978, she was married to Raymond Bigger on December 27, 1981 until his death on March 9, 2000.

Her life was spent with music giving organ lessons and playing concerts in many venues including social, churches, weddings and funerals. She gave her gift of music to everyone she came in contact with. Beryl played the piano for the Enid Noon Lions Club for over 50 years and was the first female member of the Enid Lions Club. She was a past President of the Enid Chapter of P.E.O. She was a member of the Sooner Sunday School Class at Central Christian Church. Beryl and Raymond traveled extensively throughout the world and had many fond memories of their trips. She was a very avid OU Football fan.

Survivors are two sons, Gary Rhodes and his wife Terri of Edmond. Philip Rhodes and his wife Lana of Oklahoma City, a step daughter, Marcy Lee Hurd and her family of Enid, Grandchildren Jamie Caldwell and her husband Brian of Edmond, Ashley Rhodes of Edmond, Margaret and Jeremy Wysocki of Highlands Ranch Colorado and Juli Rhodes of Grand Junction, Colorado, Great Grandchildren Noah Caldwell, Madelyn and Evelyn Wysocki.

The family would like to give a special acknowledgement to Joe Highberger, for his kindness, love and friendship over the years to Beryl, Gary and Philip. In addition, a very special thank you to Tam Messenger and Hang Haden for their years as Beryl’s primary caregivers and for the quality of care they provided her.

In lieu of flower, memorials may be given to the Sooner Sunday School Class c/o Central Christian Church or the Enid Noon Lions Club with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday March 24, 2012 at Central Christian Church with Rev. John McLemore and Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday evening, March 23, 2012 from 5:00-6:30 pm at the funeral home.
