A Celebration of Life service for Robert “Bob” Betts age 82 of Enid will be 10 am Wednesday, at the Awakening the Fire Ministries, 3320 N. Van Buren Enid, with Pastor Jay Drawbridge officiating. Burial will following in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Bob was born in Dallas, TX on July 20, 1935 to Don and Ruth Rae Betts and passed away August 26, 2017 in the Garland Road Nursing Center. He grew up in Odessa, TX where he met Shirley in the third grade. Bob married Shirley McCullough on January 17, 1958 in Odessa.
Bob moved to Ringwood, OK in December 1966. He owned Betts Hot Oil Units for several years then sold to Hamm & Phillips. Bob then went to work for his friend Harold Hamm and help grow Continental Resources for the next 34 years.
Bob is survived by his wife Shirley of the home, daughter Debbie and John Cole and son Scott and Melody Betts, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Johnny Paul, and Sister Marie Pair.
Memorials may be made to Valir Hospice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
