Graveside services for Marilyn J. Belcher 83, of Enid will be held Wednesday December 1, 2010 at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Edmison will be officiating the service. Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services. Marilyn died November 26, 2010 at her home.
She was born the oldest of four on June 14, 1927 in Ponca City, OK to the late Joseph and Nellie King Cooper. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1945. Marilyn married the late Herbert Walsh and he preceded her in death in 1951. On April 11, 1953 she married Page Belcher Jr. and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Marilyn was employed by Continental Oil Company in Ponca City, Champion Oil in Enid, and as a Garfield County Election official. She was a long time member of the
Delta Child Study Club and the First United Methodist Church of Enid. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family. Marilyn was a loving, patient and fun parent to her children. Marilyn enjoyed traveling with Page and visited many parts of the world. She especially loved Dubrovnik, Prague, Venice and Greece.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Page of the home: Five Children: Terry Belcher of Enid, Janice Geier of San Anselmo, CA., Susan Asbell and husband Steve of Tacoma, WA., Philip Belcher and wife Kendell of Edmond Page Belcher III and wife Ina of Jay: Nine grandchildren: Tom and Jack Geier, Katie and Grant Belcher, Laura, Elizabeth and Caroline Asbell and Lindsey and Hanna Belcher. She is also survived by Sister Lavonne Scovill of San Antonio, TX, Brother-in-law Dick Hughes of Tucson, AZ., and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her Parents she was preceded in death by a Brother, Ronald Cooper, and a Sister Joan (Jody) Hughes.
Memorial may be made to OMRF Alzheimer’s Division with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodians of the fund.
