A Memorial Service for Bryce Wayne Beckwith, age 46, Enid, will be 10:30 am, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Cremation and services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Bryce Wayne Beckwith was born November 1, 1977, to Barry and Lenora Beckwith of Shattuck, Oklahoma. He was welcomed to the family by his older sister Jennifer. Growing up in Shattuck, Bryce enjoyed time with friends and cousins, riding his bike, fishing with his dad, and playing video games. After attending Shattuck Public Schools and Woodward Christian Academy, Bryce graduated high school from Gage High School in May, 1996. He briefly attended Meridian Technology Center in Stillwater, OK where he studied courses in drafting. He lived in and around Enid, Oklahoma for many years where he worked for various electrical contractors and supported Barry in his electrical service.
To know Bryce was to know a sincere, thoughtful and considerate man. He was always sensitive to the needs of people around him and eager to lend a helping hand. Bryce inherited a creative and innovate streak from his dad, Barry, and enjoyed creating interesting lighting fixtures, creative light displays, workarounds and the like. He had a real gift for repairing computers, tablets and mobile phones and put his skills to good use helping others. Nothing fascinated Bryce more than electronics and gaming systems. He amassed quite a collection of vintage games which he rebuilt and restored. His attention to detail was unmatched!
After battling addiction for a number of years, Bryce is now at peace. He was a precious soul, created to bear the image of God, but struggled so much to see his value in the world. He was a believer who had committed his life to following Christ, and we take comfort in knowing he is resting in the arms of Jesus.
Bryce was preceded in death by his parents Barry and Lenora. Bryce is survived by his son Morgan Smith of Enid with whom he wholeheartedly intended to cultivate a relationship after attaining sobriety and stability. He is also survived by sister Jennifer (Clinton Baker), nephew Carston, and niece Courtney of Zionsville, Indiana. His presence will be missed, but his memory lives on in the lives of the people he touched.
