A graveside service for Violet Fern Barton, age 72 of Waukomis, OK, will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Waukomis Cemetery, Waukomis, OK. Rev Dave Jones will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Violet was born September 14, 1937 in Morse, OK to John and Beulah (Adams) Whitson and died, Sunday, March 21, 2010 in Enid, OK. She was a hairdresser for over 20 years and owned her own shop in Waukomis. She was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. She was an avid Bingo player, loved fishing and took great pride in taking care of her yard and her flowers. Violet’s home was warm and always welcoming to her family and many friends.
She is survived by three sons: Kenneth Barton, Jr and wife Sandra of Waukomis, OK, Howard Barton of Guymon, OK and Dwayne Brock, Jr of Enid, OK; four grandchildren: Jason Barton and wife Jenny, Megan Barton, Desiree Tennyson and husband Shawn and Destiny Brock; seven great grandchildren: Kylynn, Hannah, Brison, Nathan, Gage, Jayston and Mattie; two brothers, Allen Whitson and A.J. Whitson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Brian Barton; sisters, Mary Hogshooter, Edith “Ted” Hewitt, Flora Jordan, Zettia Hunter; brothers, Glen Whitson, Marvin Whitson, Gilbert Davis and Bill Whitson.
