Funeral services for Eugene P. Baltimore, age 85, will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev Ted Kuschel will officiate. Private interment will follow at the Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Eugene was born November 21, 1926, the son of John Mervin and Mary Rebecca “Mack” Baltimore and passed away February 14, 2012.
He enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 serving on the USS Casablanca and was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned home to finish High School graduating from Enid High School in 1947. He then attended Phillips University. Eugene was united in marriage to Eva Lee Loucks February 22, 1953. He was employed as a postal carrier from June 1, 1956 with his retirement June 1, 1985. After retirement, he served as a crossing guard for the Enid School system and was also employed by Scheffe Prescription Shop. He was an avid gardener and his family enjoyed eating the many vegetables produced in his garden. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Lee of 58 years; one daughter, Cindy Batchelder and husband Rick of Enid; four grandchildren, Ann, Tammy, Brian and Bobbi Jo; numerous nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Rev Ernest Leierer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eugene P Baltimore, Jr; and one sister, Waunita Leierer.
