A Celebration of Life for Glenda Mae (Bittle) Babb, 84, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Friday, June 11, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Enid, with Reverend Kelly Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 10th at the funeral home.
Glenda was born July 26, 1936, in Nash, Oklahoma, to parents Joseph LeRoy (Roy) Bittle and Darlene Mae (McCabe) Bittle, and passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Glenda was one of nine children, and she enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters. She graduated from Kremlin High School, where she played Basketball and was Basketball Queen. She loved to watch her favorite sports teams and remained an avid sports fan thought out her life.
Glenda met Willis Babb in 1954. They were married on August 18, 1955, in Enid, OK. Together they raised their two children, Christy & Craig.
Glenda worked throughout her life in a variety of businesses. Most of all, she was devoted to her two children, but she managed to keep busy as a transporter and delivery person for her husbands’ tile and carpet business; catering for Richill’s Cafeteria; she was a Secretary and Realtor for Willis Babb Real Estate and Auction Company; and Realtor for Century 21 Real Estate. Glenda loved her work and won numerous awards. She enjoyed being able to help and serve others in all that she did.
Glenda was a devout Christian, and a life-time member of the First Baptist Church of Enid. She loved hosting her Sunday School Class Parties every month. Glenda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, (if you needed her, she was always there).
She led by example. There was never a job too large or too small that she would not tackle, and she welcomed it. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Glenda is survived by daughter Christy Stratton and husband Randy, of Houston, TX; son Craig Babb and wife Paula, of Conway AR; grandchildren, Quinton & Myndi Diel of Garber, OK; MacKenzie & Brandon Reynolds, of Moyock, NC; and Madison Babb of Little Rock, AR. She also leaves great-grandchildren, Jayli Diel, Levi & Colton Reynolds; one sister, Mary Estill, and three brothers, Bruce, Ron and Dave Bittle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Willis; three brothers and a sister.
