Anthony Wedel

March 30, 1972 — February 24, 2025

Funeral services for Anthony Joel “Tony” Wedel, age 52, of Enid, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, March 3, 2025, at Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ron Olson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Saturday, March 1st, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Tony Wedel was one of a kind. He was born on March 30, 1972 to Linda Clemens and Richard Wedel. From that moment on, he was determined. Determined to have fun. Determined to absorb as much knowledge as he could. Tony graduated from Chisholm in 1990. Determined to love his family and friends so fiercely that nobody dared to mess with them. Tony pretended to have a hard shell, but those who knew him know he was secretly a big softy. This is evidenced by all the times he’d sneak his grandchildren candy or extra bottles when they weren’t supposed to. The grandkids knew “go to papa”, his nieces/nephews knew “go to Uncle Tony”, and his children knew “go to dad” if they wanted anything in life because he’d get it for them. Tony was stubborn and independent. He didn’t let any of his obstacles in life hold him back from living life to the fullest extent. Even in his last 24 hours on this Earth, he was determined to do what he loved: shoot baskets. Tony loved sports. He was constantly talking to his son and other family members about the upcoming football games and basketball games. He was known in his neighborhood as “the man with the basketball goal” and often played with neighborhood kids and their parents. He loved attending his grandchildren’s baseball games when he had free time. Tony was one of the best masonries in the town, if not in the state. He was constantly uploading pictures of projects he’d worked on; he was so very proud of all the work he did. Laying brick was a fundamental part of his life. So was his family. He is survived by his wife, Angela Wedel, four children, Camden Wedel, Mykelti Aebi, Dillon Wedel, and Brianna Gable; his mother, Linda Clemens; his sister, Kristin Miller; 14 grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He’s preceded in death by his Grandparents.

Memorial contributions in Tony’s name may be made to the American Heart Association with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
