Dorothy Anderson

Dorothy D Anderson, 88, of Enid, OK, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from her home.

Born and raised in Hunter, OK on May 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Andrew E and Nellie R (Pratt) Schultz. She attended Sunnyside Country School and Hunter schools. She was the youngest of three children. Preceding her in death was a sister, Ruby, and a brother, Chester. Dorothy was raised alone as an only child from around three years old.

Dorothy attended college in Tonkawa, OK before marrying Ivan S Anderson of Hunter, December of 1941. They lived on a farm northeast of Hunter. Dorothy was a member of the Baptist Church and belonged to the Merry Matrons Club both of Hunter.

They moved to Enid in 1966 where they have lived ever since. Dorothy belonged to and was active in the First Baptist Church of Enid. Dorothy also sold World Book Encyclopedias for many years.

Dorothy has four children: Sherry Visich of Hunter, OK, Larry Anderson also of Hunter, OK, Carol Vollerecht of Santa Monica, CA and Gayla Cain of Oklahoma City, OK; 9 grandchildren: Bobby, Heather, Tasha, Angie, Aubury and Rusty, Simon, Ellie and Andrea; three great grandchildren: Brianna, Logan and Presley.

Dorothy truly loved all of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. They brought her a lot of joy and she loved them all so much. She will be greatly missed by all her family as well as by her many friends and neighbors. She always loved life and her enthusiasm was contagious. Come and celebrate Dorothy’s life with family and friends at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 14, 2010. Rev Keith Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the White Cemetery, Hunter, OK. Condolences may be emailed to the family at ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
