Richard Allison

A memorial service for Richard “Rick” Larry Allison, age 76, of Enid, will be 1:00 pm, Monday, January 29, 2024 at Oakwood Christian Church with Reverend Eric Keller officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corp. Visitation is Sunday, January 28th from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Cremation and services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Rick was born December 7, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas to James and Virginia (Huston) Allison and passed away January 18, 2024.

Rick moved to Enid in 1949. He attended Garfield and Longfellow where he played baseball. He graduated from Enid High School in 1965. Rick attended NWOSU for one year before enlisting in the USMC. He served his country for three years, from February 7, 1966 to June 25, 1969. He served one tour in Vietnam. Upon his return from the military, he attended Enid Business School before he went to work at the family business, Enid Iron & Metal. Rick and his cousin, Larry Allison took over the business in 1984, and Rick retired in 2012.

Rick was very active in masonry. He was the leader of the craft in 2017 when he served as Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Oklahoma. He held many offices in the Grand Lodge, and served on many committees. He was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason where he served as the Director of the Work for several years in the Guthrie Valley. He was a member of Garfield Lodge #501, Coronado Lodge #56, Pond Creek Lodge #125 and India Lodge #551. He belonged to several Appendant bodies of masonry including the York Rite, where he was a Past Commander of Enid Commandery #13, Allied Masonic Degrees where he served as Sovereign Master, Saint Omer Conclave of the Red Cross of Constantine, Sojourners, The Order of The Eastern Star, Rosicrucians and The India Shrine.

Rick loved archery, pool and hunting; but above all, he loved his family. He never missed his grandchildren’s events, or Sunday mornings with his mother. He was loved by everyone and will be missed dearly.

Rick is survived by his mother, Virginia Allison; his children, Angela Allison Wedel, and husband Anthony, Dustin Allison and wife Ashley, and Rikki Allison; grandchildren, Michael Allison, and wife Jessica, Olivea Roberts, Huston Gaskill, Isaiah Dortch, and wife Nirvana, Nicholas Allison; great grandchildren, Maddox, Kody and Adlee Allison, Jeremyah Factor, Raelynn and Arnece Junior Roberts, Zaelon and Lorena Gaskill, Ralph-Angel Dortch.

He is preceded in death by his father; and great-granddaughter, Mayan Roberts.

Memorial donations may be made to Oklahoma Masonic Charity Foundation with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
