Obituary for William Ray Puls

A Celebration of Life for William ”Bill” Ray Puls, 76, of Enid, will be 2:00pm, Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Reverend Kwan Young Kim officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, Anthony Kansas. Local arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home & Crematory.
William Ray Puls was born September 18, 1946, in Harper, Kansas, the son of Mark and Doris (Fox) Puls. He graduated from Anthony High School in 1964, where he excelled in sports. Bill attended Pittsburg State University and Wichita State University on track and cross-country scholarships.
On December 18, 1965, Bill married the love of his life, Janie Lynn Coon. To this union, three children were born. Bill worked in various occupations until they moved to Enid in 1971 for Gold Spot Dairy, eventually being promoted to general manager of the plant. After the closing of Gold Spot, Bill remained with AMPI and relocated to Arlington, Texas. In 1998, Bill retired, and they moved back to Enid. Since Bill could never sit still, retirement was not an option. He worked for the census bureau, Star Tek, Jumbo’s, and most recently, Enid Wheatheart Nutrition.
Bill loved watching and going to all his kids and grandkids activities. Bill was always there to help family and friends in need. He enjoyed working in his yard, watching all types of sports, fishing, spending time with his family, and spoiling his grandkids. However, Bill did not enjoy Janie criticizing his driving.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gary, and niece Erin Puls.
Bill will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, 3 children; JaRae Puls and LyNae Craig, both of Enid; Brian and wife Buffy Puls of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Jillian Craig and Chase Puls; two brothers, Robert and wife Lynn of Abilene, Texas; Dennis and wife Linda of Durango, Colorado; sister-in-law Marilyn Puls, as well as several nieces, nephews, and good friends, Bob and Earlene Shelton, and other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to Wheatheart Nurtition of Enid with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
