Billie Jeanne Lasley was born to James and Mary (Richardson) Lasley on February 6, 1931, in Cherokee, Ok, and passed away on July 29, 2021, in Enid, OK.
The beginning of Billie’s life started in Cherokee, Oklahoma where she became the 5th sibling of the Lasley family. Her 90 years of life took her many places, including Iowa, where the 6th sibling was born. She also resided in Hardtner, Kansas for many years; as well as Oklahoma City, Ada, and finally Enid, where she has lived for almost 3 decades. She graduated from Hardtner High School, and then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University where she drove 15 miles from her home in Kansas to attend classes. In 1955, she received double Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and French.
Billie enjoyed sharing memories of her childhood, including the memories from her parents’ café in Hardtner and her college experiences. She even had the privilege of seeing Elvis Presley perform.
In the early 1990’s Billie moved to Enid, OK to be closer to her siblings. While in Enid, she attended St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. In her life in Enid, she raised her granddaughter Jezmyn. Billie supported Jezmyn’s activities throughout Elementary school to Enid High football games, where Jezmyn was a part of the Big Blue Marching Band.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mary Lasley; daughter Jamie; brother, Dale; and sisters; Gayle, June, Tessie, and Patricia (Trish).
Billie is survived by her granddaughter, Jezmyn, and fiancé, Cody Warfield and his son Cadyn, of Enid; great-granddogs, Abigail and Maggie; daughter, Cathy; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family. She is also survived by many friends of Jezmyn’s who Billie loved like her own grandchildren.
