A Mass of Christian Burial for Curtis Eugene Turner, age 68, of Hennessey, is 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hennessey, Oklahoma, with Father Edward Manasco officiating. Burial will follow in Hennessey Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. A Rosary will be 6:00 pm, Tuesday, April 27th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Mrs. Melissa Matousek to officiate.

Curtis Eugene Turner was born April 28, 1952 in Julesburg, Colorado to Sue Ann (Penny) and John Turner, and passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Curtis moved to Hennessey in 1960 where he attended school and spent his summers as a roustabout and well service rig hand before graduating from Hennessey High School in 1970. He was truly a jack of all trades and enjoyed working a variety of jobs through his life including brick mason, oil field driller/tool pusher, and finally retiring after serving as Hennessey Director of Public Works for 15 years.

Curtis was a charismatic individual who never met a stranger. He had an infectious smile and witty personality. He enjoyed mastering skills such as cooking, fishing, and wine-making.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenny Turner, and one child.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra; daughter, Tracy Turner, of Norman; son Travis Turner of Norman; son Tyler Turner, MD and wife Halen Turner, MD, of Milwaukee; one sister, Kathy Hodges, of Enid; as well as many other extended family members.

He left a lasting impression and will be missed by many. He may be gone but will never be forgotten.

Memorials in Curtis's name may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Hennessey with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
