Obituary for Floyd Vernon Hoover Jr.

A Celebration of Life for Floyd V. “Bud” Hoover, Jr., will be 10:00 am, Monday, August 7, 2017 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Bud was born October 12, 1930 in Enid to Floyd and Luella (Lane) Hoover and passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Bud was a graduate of the Class of 1948 of Enid High, and then attended OSU, formerly A & M. After college, he came back to Enid and farmed the land his grandfather Cyrus Hoover had homesteaded until his retirement. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Enid, and married Betty (Poindexter) Bell, May 12, 1973.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Luella; son, John Hoover; two sisters, Donna Pedrick and Marjorie DeBusk; and step-daughter, Tamara Bell. He is survived by his wife Betty, of the home in Enid; two daughters, Jennifer Heffner of Cardiss, Wales; Julie Garrison and husband Eddie, of Norman, OK; step-son, Michael Bell, of Enid; four grandchildren, Royce Garrison, of Norman, OK; Katharine Heffner and Daniel Heffner, of Austin, TX; Casey Hoover and wife Amanda, of Oklahoma City, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Bud’s name may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the charity of your choice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
