Condolences

Condolence From: Chris Bushnell
Condolence: I just learned of Mr. Goodness's passing. He was my music teacher when I started playing saxophone as a 5th grader at Coolidge, then at Longfellow. I took Saturday morning lessons from him for some time as well at a church in downtown Enid. He was a wonderful teacher and role model. Someone here mentioned his cheerful spirit and whistling throughout the day and I remember that well too. I have played my saxophone in college and it opened the door for me to be in a group that traveled around the USA. I have continued to play it throughout my life at church and various events. I'll always be grateful to what Mr. Goodness taught me and his indelible positive influence on so many of our lives.

Condolence: Brent & Bob, The years our families spent together on Meadowbrook as neighbors are some of the best memories of my childhood. Your parents & mine were great friends for so many years. Jim & Betty were such good people. I hope you find joy in remembering your childhood in our great neighborhood.

Condolence: Mr. Goodness was the nicest man I have ever met and known. He was my 5th grade teacher at McKinley(1981-82). I always remember him whistling down the halls of the school. Later on he and his wife would come into Hobby Lobby, where I worked at the time, and he would be whistling. He always remembered my name and that I was a student of his. He was the only male teacher at McKinley, at the time. I was fortunate to have him as my 5th grade teacher. God Bless.

Condolence: When I was in third grade at Waukomis, Jim was our band and music teacher. He tried (and I emphasize "TRIED") to teach me clarinet. I think frustration finally overcame him. Many years later when he was teaching instrumental music at Longfellow, I joined the faculty and we became fast friends. My fondest memory of Jim is his quick wit and great sense of humor. He was a very special man and I've always appreciated his dedication to teaching music and education in general. He and Betty were great people. I'm privileged to be able to call him my friend.

Condolence: Bob and Family, Your father was, as you know, so special in so many ways. He was a man that I looked up to, and I know you and David did also. He was a man in a million. He did so much for his family and for so many others. I know you will miss him in the days ahead, but I am praying God will give you comfort in all the wonderful memories. I cherish the memory of this sweet and wonderful man. He was my hero.

Condolence: Bob, I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I truly enjoyed having him as a teacher and later in life as a friend. I so enjoyed getting to stop in and visit him when ever I made it back to Enid. Know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Fred
